TONGE, DOROTHY ANN
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dorothy Ann Tonge which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 15th, 2015. Born in October 1939, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Laura (Rupert) Shepherd.
Dorothy worked as a Crew Clerk with the Canadian Pacific Railway for 33 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a fan of the former Saint John Flames. She was faithful member of Stone Church and current President of the Anglican Church Women’s Group.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Karen Caines (Chuck Hinsdale) of Martinon and son Richard (Sandra) of Saint John; brother William (Joyce) of Lower Norton; sister Donna Britton of Winnipeg; grandchildren Christie (Nick) and Cori (Shawn) and five step-grandchildren; great-granddaughters Jordan , Sadie and Darci and several step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and feline companion Tripy.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Richard Shepherd.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 20th at 1:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery in the spring.
