Francis "Frank" DesRoches

DesROCHES, FRANCIS "FRANK" JOSEPH AUGUSTUS
Frank DesRoches of Plaster Rock, NB and formerly of Pokiok, NB passed away February 17, 2015 at the Grand Falls Hospital. Frank was born at Summerside, PEI in 1926, a son of the late Edmund and Sophie DesRoches.
Frank enjoyed going to the Legion dances in Nackawic and Woodstock. There were also lots of get-togethers for all ages at the DesRoches house in Pokiok throughout the years, with lots of music that Frank loved to accompany on the spoons. His trips to PEI to visit his family were always special to him. In his later years, he made new friends at The Manor in Plaster Rock, where he was spoiled by all who worked there as well as by the residents and their families. Frank was named ‘King at The Manor’ last year, despite his tormenting of the nurses. He liked to follow his daughter Tammy around The Manor on her shifts there.
He is survived by his children, Mary Schofield, Joseph DesRoches (Elizabeth), Edward DesRoches (Kelly), Tracy DesRoches, Raymond DesRoches, Tammy Michaud (Tim) and a daughter-in-law, Linda DesRoches; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Vincent DesRoches of PEI; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Minerva (Arsenault) DesRoches; his first wife, Rose (Weeks) DesRoches; his second wife, Eleanor (Dewitt) DesRoches; two sons, Owen DesRoches and Marty DesRoches; ten sisters and one brother.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic, NB on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 am with celebrant Father Godwin Kalu. Interment will be later at the Otis Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Frank, the family has suggested the Special Olympics or the NB Heart and Stoke Foundation.
