Born in Travellers Rest on August 4, 1917, son of the late John C. and Ruby (Sweet) Wood. Husband of the late Velda R. (Rayner) Wood. Father of Rena (Douglas) Profitt, Lower Freetown; Ruby (Everett) Baglole, Sherbrooke; Garth (Anne) Wood, Travellers Rest; and Gordon (Dale) Wood, Travellers Rest. Grandfather of Kevin (Kim) Baglole, David Baglole, Lisa (Derek) MacDonald, Karen (Billy) Steele, Kent Wood (Patty Perrin), Sherri (Andrew) Blodgett, Melanie McDermaid (Kirby MacIsaac) and Lauralee (Chuck) Cizek. Great-grandfather of Michael, Natasha (Nick Evans), Brooke, Connor, Carter, Kristen, Chad, Colin, Madison, Regan, Lily and Paetyn. Brother of Luella Cotton, Summerside; Pearl Thompson, Sudbury, ON; Velda MacDonald, Oshawa, ON; Evelyn (Keith) Callbeck and John (Olive) Wood, Calgary, AB. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Mildred Wood and brother Claude Wood in 1923. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment later in People's Cemetery, Summerside.
