"You are the best thing that's ever been mine"…

We, the family of Donald "Duck" Bishop, are deeply saddened by his passing on Feb. 18, 2015, with his family by his side at the QEII in Halifax.
Donald lived life to the fullest, he lived every day like it was his last. His heart was bigger than his body, always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Donald had a sense of humour like no other, he made everyone he knew laugh. In his early years you could find him at a baseball field playing the game he loved. Donald loved to fish, hunt, and use his hands to make anything from a "Duck-tape" wallet to a beautiful piece of furniture. He had many types of cars that he owned and liked to work on. He was a sharp pool shooter, who liked to challenge anybody to a game of pool. Donald was a valued member of the Union Local No. 92. He was passionate about cooking his "famous" stuffed meatballs, for those who were fortunate enough to enjoy them.
Donald was born in North Sydney, the son of Lillian and the late Albert Bishop.
Donald is survived by his wife Connie "Puka Bear", his best friend of 20 years. Donald is also survived by his only daughter, whom he loved and adored, Vanessa Greenfield (Natasha). His son, whom he loved and adored, Clinton MacLean (Christina). His special niece Brooke "Chinook" who was his fishing buddy and his dog "Dads girl" Bella. His brothers Albert "Butch", Nick, Kenny (Mary), Blair (Valerie), Wayne and his only sister, Marilyn (Frankie).
Donald was predeceased by a brother in infancy.
Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a long list of friends who he enjoyed his morning coffee talks with.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of the CCU at the CBRH and the staff of the Cardiovascular ICU at the QEII for their care and compassion over the last few weeks.
As per his request, there will be no visitation Cremation has taken place. Celebration of his life will take place at the St. John's Anglican Church, King Street, North Sydney on Monday, Feb. 23rd at 3 p.m. with Rev. Glen Kent officiating.
"I love you to the moon and back".
