BUTLAND, DALE CHESLEY
Dale C. Butland, 64, of Moncton, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, February 22, 2015. Born in Riverside Albert, Albert Co., he was the son of M. Ferne (Hoar) McCurdy of Moncton and the late Chesley Butland.
After spending 20 years as a contract administrator in the construction industry, Dale went on to become the owner/operator of Woodhaven Enterprises the manufacturer of Danny’s Pizza. He loved music especially country and old rock, loved playing with his band “Dale Butland and His Illustrious Compatriots”, was an avid guitar and fiddle player, enjoyed singing a good country song, was a member of the Sussex Valley Jamboree for 19 years. He was an extremely hard worker but first and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Dale will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 41 years, Carla (Godsoe) Butland; daughter, Kelly Graham (Greg) of Riverview; his sons, Wade Butland of Etobicoke, ON and Warren Butland (Cindy) of Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Dean, Elizabeth, Victoria, Alexandria and Mary; sisters, Patricia Stiles, Debbie Howe (Vernon) and Marvena Welling (Donnie); brothers, Leslie Stiles, Rod Butland (Margaret) and Walter Butland (Eleanor); many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road (858-1995) Moncton on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate Dale’s Life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, to be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
If so desired, donations in Dale’s memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or memorial of donor’s choice.
