It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Judy on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was the daughter of the late Protase 'Spud' and Rita (MacKinnon) Petrie. She was born in Glace Bay and raised in Dominion. Judy was kind and generous to her friends and family.
She is survived by her brother, Bernard (Margie); sisters, Delores 'Lori' (Vern) Gilbert, Diane (Martin) Gillis, Gail Burke; sister-in-law, Theresa; brother-in-law, Joe Czulinski; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Josie and Cheryl.
Judy was predeceased by her brother, Andrew 'Pete'; sister, Marie Czulinski and brother-in-law, Keith Burke. Many thanks for the loving care Judy received at Miners Memorial Manor and the ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. in Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home, 775 Main St. The Rev. Norman MacPhee will be presiding. The interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
