DRUMMOND, VERNA M.
It is with profound sadness the family of Verna M. Drummond, wife of the late Joseph Drummond, of Saint John announce her passing on February 23, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
She was born in Digby, NS on May 4, 1930 a daughter of the late Percy and Mabel (Slavin) Parker. Verna was a founding member of the WABC and had volunteered for many years at Romero House along with many other charities and received the Queen Jubilee Medal for service.
She was the matriarch of the Drummond family and was known as the neighborhood mother, Mrs. D.
She was predeceased by two sons, Armond and Andre, as well as several brothers and sisters.
Verna is survived by her children Darcy, Darlana, Holly, Theresa, Angie, Gary, Adrian, Aaron and Antoine, two sisters Joyce and Kaye, a brother Ralph and closest friend Agnes Roche, nineteen grandchildren, several great- and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Church on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 9 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
