Kenrid “Ken” Ernest Hagen
June 3, 1935 – February 22, 2015
Kenrid Hagen, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on February 22, 2015 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 79 years. Ken was employed by Sherwin Williams Paint Company as a salesman for many years, travelling throughout North Western Saskatchewan. He continued his sales skills with his pizza business until he retired. Ken loved sports and was very active in the Prince Albert sports scene. He was asked to move to Prince Albert to play for the former Mintos junior men’s hockey team in the mid-to-late 50’s. He later played for the Prince Albert Anavets SAHA team who were inducted into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame. He loved baseball and played for the Prince Albert Bohemians, who were inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame. When Ken no longer played, he turned to coaching hockey and baseball and successfully led some of his teams to finals. Later he discovered the love and companionship of golf and was a member of the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club. His favourite pastimes were watching all his sports on TV as well as a regular game of pool, crib, and shuffleboard with his friends at Carment Court. His failing health caused him to move to the Herb Bassett where he was well taken care of. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Murray (Cindy Arnold) of Shelburne, NS and Garry (Tammy Zurowski) of Prince Albert, SK; his daughter Linda (Richard Jacques) of Monkland, ON; his grandchildren: Leanne, Owen, Kayla, Corben, Brittni, Lorea, Andrew, Steven and Laura; his great-grandchildren: Madeline, Adam, and Abigail; the mother of his children: Sharon Hagen of Prince Albert, SK; his sisters: Faye (Gerry) Bremner of Edmonton, AB, Sharon Hagen of Calgary, AB, and Donna (Don) McLean of Hudson Bay, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Ken was predeceased by his mother Ida Mae Hagen, his father Ernest Hagen, and his sister Lenore Emmons. No Funeral Service will be held, a Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
