It is with broken hearts that we, the family announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Eddie Campbell on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rhoda (White) Campbell.
In earlier years, he was the owner of Campbell Brothers Fina and Riverdale Motors Ltd., and loved wheeling and dealing on anything that moved; cars, trucks, campers and boats. There was nothing he loved better than spending time “on the Mira” with his family and friends. He was a kind man who always had a big smile and a great sense of humour and loved to make everyone laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Della (Fougere) Campbell; his wonderful children, Terry, Nicole (Edward Hillman), Crystal (Donnie Marsh), Brianna and Joey (Bailey Warner); his precious grandchildren, Brandyn, Presley, Brooklynne, Bhreagh and Ty; his sister, Laura (Conrad) Pink; niece, Lindsay Pink (Andrew Donovan); nephew, Stephen Campbell (Carrie MacNeil); aunts, Mary Peters and Diane White and many cousins, as well as the large Fougere family.
Special thanks to Stan (Judy) Dicks, who was like a brother to him; Edna (Fergie) MacKinnon and Anne Ravanello for everything.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, John and Terry (in infancy).
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, March, 2, 2015 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m., March, 3, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. A reception to follow.
