85, of Gander, NL, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the presence of family. She was born January 16, 1930 to Jacob and Lulu Legge. Bessie was a warm and good natured woman quick to share her infectious laugh. She lived a full life and wore many hats: mother, wife, sister, grandmother, entrepreneur, decorator, seamstress, world traveller, animal lover, bowler and devout christian. Her survivors are son David (Madeleine), siblings Violet, Nina and Sandra (Darrell) grandchildren Jennifer (Gent), Laura (Craig), and Michael (Nina), and great-grandchildren Liam and Matthew. Preceding Bessie in death, her husband Ambrose, and siblings George, Jean, and Norm. Visitation was held Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Friday, February 27, 2015. Funeral service, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Salvation Army Citadel, Gander. Interment followed at all Saints Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
