It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Robert Hillier of Prime Brook on March 1, 2015 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. 'Bill' as he was known was born in Ontario on Oct. 21, 1936 and was raised in Georges River by his parents, the late William and Lillian (Buck) Hillier.
Bill was a diesel mechanic by trade and was well known by many construction firms around Cape Breton Island.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; sister, Claire (Roy) Morrison; also nephews, Barry & Todd.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Viola.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 786 Alexandra St. (at the roundabout).
Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Myatt, the nurses and staff of both the ICU and palliative care units.
