Edna Bjornson
On February 26, 2015, Edna Bjornson of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 94 years.
She was born on March 20, 1920 to Alexander and Lydia Bell. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Lowe in 1944, husband Louis Bjornson in 1999, son Ron Lowe in 2014, sisters Lydia (Wynne) Marsh and Joy Young, brother Alex Bell and son-in-law Les Markuson. Edna is survived by her daughter Joan (Tony) Duhaime and son Rick (Leila) Bjornson, as well as grandchildren Kurt Markuson, Kristine (Aaron) Lyall, Arielle Bjornson and Conner Bjornson.
Edna and her sisters were born in Cheriton, Kent, England and immigrated to Moose Jaw with their parents in 1923. She attended Prince Arthur Public School and Technical Collegiate. In her teens, Edna swam competitively for the Moose Jaw Aquatic Club. She was also active in Moose Jaw bowling circles. Edna and her sister Joy worked at Prairie Airways during the war years. After the war, she worked at Moffat Florist when it was located above Johnson Dairies on Main Street.
After her marriage to Louis Bjornson in 1951 she moved to the Bjornson farm in the Scout Lake area. Louis and Edna relocated to Rockglen in 1963 and then retired to Moose Jaw in 1982.

As per Edna’s wish, a family graveside service will take place at a future date in the Rockglen Cemetery, Rockglen, SK. Donations can be made in Edna’s memory to the Moose Jaw Police Association Charity Committee c/o MJPA, 21 Fairford St. West, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1V2.
