It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Emma Mills, 94, of Villa Providence in Shediac and formerly of Cedar St Parkton, on Sunday March 1st, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Calixte “Cail” Mills. Born April 12, 1920 in Grand Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Lazarre and Claudia (Gaudet) Cormier.
Mrs. Mills was a member of the Parkton Golden Age Club, le Mouvement des Femmes Chrétiennes, la Légion de Marie and les Dames Chevalières.
She is survived by her five children: Claudia Richard (Alcide) of Dieppe, Dorothée “Dorcy” Arsenault (Gérard) of Moncton, Michel Mills (Mary-Lou Emery) of Moncton, Stella Mallais (Patrice) of Dieppe, and Bernard Mills (Louise) of Moncton, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by an infant son Junior; sisters: Domethilde (Dot) White and Florence Brown; brothers: André Cormier, Johnny Cormier and Raymond Cormier.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Center, 88 Church Street Moncton. Visiting hours will be Wednesday March 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday March 5th at 11 am at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church, 854 Mountain Rd, Moncton. Interment will be in St-Joseph cemetery, Shediac.
