Passed on: March 28th, 2015

April 17, 1943 - February 28, 2015
Knowing he is at peace, we announce the passing of Clarence Veenstra, cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. He spent the last days of a courageous battle against cancer at Agapé Hospice in Calgary, passing quietly with family by his side. Forever in the hearts of wife Janet; daughters Roberta (Dave Hendrickson) of Nanaimo and Valerie Kruse (John) of Airdrie; grandson David Moody of Airdrie; brother Ted (Grace) of Brazil, sisters Vicky Penner of Carstairs and Audrey Ouellette (Bernie) of Rocky Mountain House. Lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law Gayle Andrews (Greg), Lynne Brian (Nels) and Pam Sorenson. Loved and missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and long-time friends. His family and friends live throughout Alberta, BC, and the Netherlands. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Emmie and Bob Veenstra and parents-in-law Cliff and Elsie Sorenson. Oil patch friends will remember his years working in Alberta and around the world, with drilling companies Cantex, Westburne, and Nabors. In later years he formed his own company and consulted as a well site supervisor throughout Western Canada. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Friends and family will celebrate the life of this wonderful man at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Clarence and his family have a deep appreciation for the staff and volunteers at Agapé Hospice. He also had a life-long affection and affinity for animals. In remembrance, and in lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial tributes in Clarence's name may be made directly to The Salvation Army Agapé Hospice, 1302 8th Avenue NW, Calgary, T2N 1B8 or to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 110th AVE SE, Calgary, T2C 2T7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
