EDGAR, ARLETTA AMELIA
Arletta A. Edgar, 83, of Moncton, within the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Born in Lutes Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Whitfield and Corena (Briggs) Trites.
Arletta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and dear friend to all that knew her. She was a member of Moncton First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, camping and entertaining her friends and family.
Arletta and Eldon enjoyed doing their devotions together, travelling, camping, attending Blue Grass Festivals and were proud members of Hub City and Citation Indians Trailer Clubs; but first and foremost was her love for her family.
Arletta will be sadly missed by her loving husband of over 62 years, Eldon; daughter, Janet Steeves (Ivan) of Moncton and son, Craig Edgar (Caroline) of Moncton; grandchildren, Tanya Landry (Denis), Trudi Wasson (Keith), Melissa Edgar (her fiancé, Patrick Kearney), CJ Edgar; great-grandchildren, Breanna and Josalynn Wasson, Justin and Mylene Landry; sister, Irene Trites; sisters-in-law, Neta Trites and Betty Trites; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Arletta was predeceased by her brothers, Marshall, Neil and Curtis Trites.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Arletta’s life will be held at Moncton First Church of the Nazarene (21 Fieldcrest Drive) on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. Gary Cowper, Rev. Dale Thistle and Rev. Patti Rossiter officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Stilesville Cemetery in the spring.
In Arletta’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Stilesville Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
