VOGLER, Douglas Eugene, 86, Aylesford passed away at the Victoria Infirmary on March 7, 2015. Born on December 22, 1928 he was the son of the late Thomas and Madeline (Anderson) Vogler. Surviving is his wife Joan; daughter Teresa (Ross) Smith, Fall River, NS; sons Michael, Cochrane, AB; Philip, Berwick, NS, Stephen, Halifax, NS; sister Fern Brown, Vancouver Island, BC; brothers Wesley (Donna), Victoria, BC; Melvin (Teresa), Vancouver, BC; nine grandchildren and two great grandsons. Douglas spent 27 years in the R.C.A.F. and retired in 1978, then worked with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was a member of the Aylesford United Church where he has been active in the church affairs. When his children were growing up Douglas coached baseball and taught chess for a number of years. A Memorial service will be held at the Berwick Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m., Reverend Brenda McKay officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
