Blair Andrew Tremere age 72 years of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Scotsguard, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully at his home in Shaunavon on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
He was born at Shaunavon on December 4, 1942. He attended Austinville School to grade 6 and then completed his schooling to grade 12 in Shaunavon. Blair took a welding course in Moose Jaw and Vocational Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon before taking over the family farm. He married Darlene Peterson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Simmie on August 10, 1968. Together they operated their mixed farm until moving into Shaunavon in the fall of 1998. Blair gradually retired but never really quit, continuing to help out on the farm as his health permitted. Family was very important to him. He served as Councilor of the RM of Bone Creek. He loved golfing, enjoyed curling, fishing and the cabin. He was a member of the Shaunavon Elks Lodge.
Blair was predeceased by his father Leslie Tremere in 1983, his mother Ruth Tremere in 1984 and two brothers, Albert Roy in infancy and Arnold in 2008 and a nephew Sean Studer.
He is survived by his wife Darlene; daughter Dawn Bleackley (Trent) of High River, Alberta and grandchildren Tory (fiancée Brittany Balerud), Kade and Conner; son Derek (Sheri) of Scotsguard and grandchildren Austin, Tye and Bryden; daughter Tanya McLean (Lyndon) of Chestermere, Alberta and grandchildren Mercedes and Bailey; son Garnet (Nicole) of Calgary and grandchildren Nathan, Kiara and Isabel; sister Gladys Svenkeson (Ernie) of Melfort, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Marcella Tremere of Calgary; and brother Ross Tremere (Anna) of Port Coquitlam, B.C. as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Salem Lutheran Church in Shaunavon with Pastor Joy Frenette officiating. Interment took place at Scotsguard Lutheran Cemetery at Scotsguard. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
Honorary Pallbearers were granddaughters Bryden Tremere, Kiara Tremere, Isabel Tremere, Mercedes McLean and Bailey McLean.
Pallbearers were grandsons Tory Bleackley, Kade Bleackley, Conner Bleackley, Nathan Tremere, Austin Tremere and Tye Tremere.
