May Parenteau
April 24, 1933 – March 9, 2015
It is with broken hearts, that we the family announce the sudden passing of May Parenteau on March 9, 2015, at the age of 81 years. Mom was born April 24, 1933 in Batoche, SK, to Marcel and Bertha Nogier. She will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 64 years Arsene, her beloved children: Walter, Loretta (Carl Paul), Linda (Leonard Blocka), Esther (Herb Kugler), Debbie (Donny Balan), Sharon (Luc Blais), Patricia (Tony Lapointe); her 16 grandchildren, her 26 great-grandchildren, as well as her 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 sister-in-law. She was predeceased by her infant son Ron in 1953, her parents: Marcel and Bertha, her son-in-law Gerry, her great-granddaughter Lily, and her sister Anne. Mom’s greatest joy was her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crosswords and watching her soaps, and many Blue Jay games, until her failing eye sight made it hard to do any of these things. Evening coffee with friends or family was also something she enjoyed, and if an argument did occur that was even better. She loved talking to her best friend Eileen Romancia on the phone about their children. Mom entered the work force after all the kids were in school, she continued this till her eye sight got worse. It was either having coffee or just visiting that the stories came out. Mom even though you are gone from this earth, remember you were truly loved and will be sadly missed by you husband and children, and your extended family. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 – 7:00 pm, MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 130 9th St. E, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Sharon Kuhn officiating. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 – 10:30 am, St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, 581 - 9th St. East, Prince Albert, SK with Father Tuan Doan as Celebrant. Interment of cremated remains to follow Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Garden of Christus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of May to the CNIB, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, ON M4G 3E8. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium.
