LOGUE, MADELYN HANORA (BOYD)
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Madelyn “Maddie” Logue. Mom passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital with her family by her side on March 13, 2015. Born in Johnville, NB on August 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Cloud and Getrude (Pickard) Boyd. Mom was predeceased by her husband John Logue in 1997.
Madelyn was a loving mother to her sons, Brian (Betty) of Geary, NB, Francis (Cherrie) of Geary, NB, Harold (Jean) of Fredericton, NB, Walter (Debbie) of Fredericton, NB, and Michael (Gloria) of Geary, NB, her daughter, Barbara (Lacey) of Ottawa, ON, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Arnold (Cecila) Boyd; sisters, Billie Benson, Helen Barry, Barbara Krowcenski, Denise (Karl) Vanderklay and Pauline (Al) Lavery and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents; husband and siblings, Basil and Walter (Sam) Boyd; brothers-in-law, Ronald Barry, Joe Benson and Walter Krowcenski and sister-in-law, Theresa Boyd. She was also predeceased by John’s sisters and brothers –in-law, Deanie (Clarence) Mooney, Mary (Ralph) McCann and Edna (William) Hogan.
Madelyn’s chosen career was teaching and for many years she taught throughout Southern NB retiring in Oromocto. She was also a long term member of the St Vincent de Paul Parish CWL and enjoyed many community activities, especially a good game of Bridge.
We sincerely appreciate the compassionate care mom received by the staff at Paradise Villa, emergency ward at the DECRH, staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital, and Dr. Sainz.
Visitation will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St. on Monday, March 16th, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at 11:00 am with Fr. Antonio Reyes as celebrant. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial tributes in Madelyn’s honor may be made to the John Wood Foundation Inc., Palliative Care Units or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
