Harry Hagerman

HAGERMAN, HARRY DARIUS
Harry D. Hagerman of Springfield, York Co., NB passed away March 13, 2015. Harry was born in 1933 at Bear Island, NB, a son of the late Ward D. and Edith (Collicott) Hagerman.
Harry was a freelance photographer and wrote for CBZ Radio Station. He was very smart and loved those big words. Harry was also a mechanic for Acadia Forestry for many years. He loved animals of all kinds, but especially beavers and deer. He had pet beavers for many years, so tame he could feed them by hand.
Dad loved to hunt in his younger years. We all used to stay in a cabin on weekends and he taught us how to use a gun and hunt. There was no wounding an animal. He always said, “if you can’t get a clear shot, don’t bother”.
After his first heart attack, Dad changed and he no longer enjoyed to hunt, but rather to shoot animals with his camera. He was a photographer by trade, but now wanted to capture the beauty of all animals in their own habitats. He cherished them all dearly.
Harry is survived by his wife, Barbara (Boone) Hagerman; two daughters, Sharon Kruger, Woodstock, NB and Heather Stairs (Curtis), Nortondale, NB; one son, Ward Hagerman, Springfield, NB; three grandsons, Kyle and Dawson Stairs; two brothers, Stanley Hagerman, Bear Island, NB and Donald Hagerman, Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Doris Hagerman and four brothers, Neil, Cecil, Myles and Ernest.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 12 noon until the hour of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Clark officiating.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Harry, the family has suggested the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
