Grace SWANTEE

RIVER JOHN – Grace Margaret (MacGregor) “Grannie Grace” Swantee, of Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, and formerly of River John, left us peacefully with her family by her side on March 13, 2015.
Born August 19, 1924 at Cape John, she was a daughter of the late George and Hazel (Langille) MacGregor.
She was known as “Grannie Grace” by all of her grandchildren, her family was very precious to her.
Grace is survived by sons, Chester (Iola), River John; Ian, Hedgeville; grandchildren: Steven (Kim), New Glasgow; Patti (Kevin), Halifax; Janice (Bryan), Ottawa; Angus (Carol), Halifax; great-grandchildren: Kalei, Dylan, Matthew, Annie, Averie, Brett; sisters: Sara Craig, Kathleen Baillie, Christine (Earl) Johnson, all of River John; Marie Park, Ontario; brother, Jim, Calgary; special neighbor, Alice MacKenzie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “AJ”; son, Leon George; daughters-in-law, Anne and Charlene; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Joan; brothers-in-law: Jack Park, Donald Craig and Robert Baillie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 19th, with Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, March 20th, both in St. George’s Presbyterian Church, River John, with Rev. Gregory R. Dickson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, Hamilton Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
Family committal service will be held in Hamilton Cemetery at a later date.­
