McKNIGHT, VALERIE
Valerie Dolores (Ryan) McKnight, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015 at her residence. Born in 1933 in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Durning) Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harold William McKnight, infant daughter Deborah, brother Donald Ryan and sister-in-law Margaret Ryan.
Valerie was a member of the Walmart MacDonald’s Coffee Club, Crafters Corner at the Loch Lomond Villa; she enjoyed bowling and knitting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Twila Mahar (Stephen), Richard Armstrong (Judy), Chrystal Waugh (Phil), Joe Armstrong (Debra) and Brenda Lavigne; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Michael Ryan (Pam); sister Myrna Corkum (Darrell); several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, March 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 20 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. Interment will take place in Black River United Cemetery in the spring.
