Brian Leslie MacKay

Brian Leslie MacKay was called Home to be with his LORD and Saviour on March 15, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 22, 1970 in Aldershot England and became a Canadian citizen in 1976. Brian was an inspiration to many overcoming many obstacles with strong determination and his gentle spirit. He graduated from East Pictou High School and completed the Life Skills at Community College. He was a member of the Lady Princess May Lodge, Loyal True Blue Association. He love to worship at StoneRidge Fellowship Church and attended faithfully when his health allowed. His church family was a great part of his life after moving to Halifax ten years ago and entered Homes for Independent Living.
Brian leaves to mourn his parents James (Ernie) and Diana MacKay, sisters Myra (Bob) Wilson, Shirley (Tim) MacKay, Terri MacKay, brother Gerry MacKay, grandmother Edna Scott (UK), uncles David Scott (UK), John (Pat) MacKay, aunts Donna (Leonard) Fraser, Dorothy Honisch, Winnifred Williams, many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA, and extended family in England and his roommate Jeremy Miller.
The family would like to thank the many health care disciplines over the years, Krista, Leanne, Rochelle, Glen, and Barry at H.I.L. for their dedicated work that allowed Brian to live independently, his StoneRidge Church family and Pastoral team for their prayers and support with special thanks to Richard and Marjorie MacFarlane for driving Brian to church each week. A very special thanks to Aunt Pat for being there since he moved to Halifax.
Well done Brian!!
Brian requested Cremation, no visitation or flowers and donations can be made to StoneRidge Building Fund. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
