Everett Eugene Watt

Passed in: Sydney
Passed on: March 15th, 2015

The family of the late Everett Eugene Watt, Sydney, N.S., is sad to announce his passing on March 15, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. He died peacefully and unexpectedly, surrounded by family.
Everett was a friendly, fun-loving man who adored his family and friends and you can bet when he was in the room everyone was laughing. In his younger days he found great pleasure in hunting, fishing, coaching youth basketball, camping with his family at Ben Eoin Beach, and playing his guitar around campfires and in many Cape Breton Kitchens. Once employed as sales supervisor for Ben's Limited, Everett finally retired after 27 years as caretaker for St. Andrew's United Church in Sydney. In recent years, during his morning walks, he became known to the merchants of Charlotte Street always making sure to stop in to say hello to his closest and most cherished friend, Judy Gillis.
Everett was predeceased by his parents, George and Muriel (Redmond) Watt and infant granddaughter, Haley Morgan Watt.
He is survived by his wife, Donalda (Mombourquette); son, George (Lee Anne), Ottawa; daughter, Glenda, Coxheath; and his two grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart, James and Heather, both of Ottawa. Everett is also survived by sisters, Esta (James) Cameron and Georgina Betts of Sydney, and brother, Robert Watt of Dartmouth, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 20th at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney at 11 a.m. with reception to follow on the premises.
Donations may be made to the CNIB or the Diabetes Association.
