Gostick, Gladys Selena, 94, of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in North River, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Effie (Nelson) Roy. In her earlier years, Gladys and her late husband Leonard followed and totally supported Denny’s hockey and fastball practices and games. She was a former employee of Stanfield’s Ltd. Truro where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of St. David’s United Church Bible Hill, the Dorcas Group and the UCW. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26 Truro, as a veteran’s widow. Gladys loved to paint scenery pictures of which she painted many. She loved to bowl, play cards and in her last 4 to 5 years loved to travel places with Denny on Sundays Surviving are her son, Denny, Bible Hill; brother, Carl (Wendy), Bible Hill; sisters, Darlene Lane (Erven Trefry), Greenfield, Reta (John) Munro, North River, and Carol (Bill) LeBlanc, Bible Hill; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; sister, Mary; brothers, Vincent, Russell, and Clair. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, March 21, in St. David’s United Church, 18 St. David’s Avenue Bible Hill, with Rev. Donna Lawrence officiating. A reception will follow in St. David’s United Church Hall. Interment will be held at a later date in the Bible Hill Cemetery in Bible Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro.
