Stephanie Ann (Jobe) MacCormick

Born In: Neil's Harbour

Passed in: River Ryan
Passed on: March 16th, 2015

We regret to announce the sudden passing of a loving wife, stepmother, sister, and aunt, Stephanie (Jobe) MacCormick, 52, of James St, River Ryan on Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Stephanie passed away after a short illness with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Neil's Harbour, she was a daughter of the late James and Jean (Dixon) Jobe.
Stephanie spent the first few years of her life on St. Paul’s Island. It is very secluded but she learned the importance of family, which is something she carried with her for the rest of her life. The family later moved to New Victoria where in later years she met and married her husband, Gary, of 24 years. With this union she got to experience what it was like to be a mother gaining a stepdaughter, Nicole; something she cherished whole- heartedly. She was a strong family person who never let a day go by without letting you know you were important to her and mattered.
Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Gary MacCormick; stepdaughter, Nicole, Alberta; sister Margie; brothers, Don (Carole), Paul (Sue) and in-laws, Vince and Martha MacCormick. Stephanie is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong friend of 50 years, Edwenna Campbell.
Stephanie is predeceased by her father, James and her mother, Jean.
From a young age, Stephanie was faced with many illnesses and trials in her life which she always met head on and fought to overcome with her strong will and determination. Stephanie was passionate about animals whether it was the cats she rescued, the birds she fed, or her beloved corgis.
There will be no visitation as per Stephanie’s request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
I think of Heaven as a garden where I shall find again those dear ones who have made my world.
