Corey MacPherson

MACPHERSON, COREY JAMES
With deep sadness, the family of Corey James MacPherson announce his unexpected passing on March 16, 2015 at his residence on Germain Street West.

Born March 16, 1992 in Saint John, he was a son of Pat Gilliland and Mark MacPherson (Jennifer Coleman-Kenty). Corey loved his daughter, Layla Steen-MacPherson, and his partner and love of his life, Charyna Gallant, more than anything in this world. He was so proud of Layla and he was the happiest whenever he was with her. He loved to play sports and video games with his cousin Brent. He was loved by everyone he knew, especially his best friend and sister, Jessica MacPherson (Lee). He had the biggest and most pure heart. Corey is at peace now and is no longer in pain. We will all see you again someday. Until then, remember that you will always be loved and you will never be forgotten. We will see you on the other side someday.

In addition to his mother, Pat; his father, Mark; his daughter, Layla; partner, Charyna; and sister, Jess; Corey is survived by his grandparents: Connie MacPherson and Leonard Mosher; his aunts and uncles: Rosa and Francis Duplessis, Heather and Pat McNeil, Suzanne and Mark Melanson, and Jamie MacPherson and Francoise Veron-Stamp (Suzanne and Heather are also Corey’s godparents); and cousins: Brent, Mark, and Katie Duplessis and Keith and Austin McNeil. He was predeceased by his grandfather, David MacPherson; grandmother, Jean Gilliland; and great-grandmother, Ruby McWhirter.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with a memorial service being held in Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 2pm. Corey accepted everyone as they were, so come dressed as you are. A reception will follow at 64 Wellesley Avenue.

Remembrances to Corey’s daughter Layla’s Trust Fund would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
