It is with great sadness that the family of Shelby Jean (nee Bennett) announces her passing on Feb. 20, 2015 at Hillcrest Extendicare, Calgary, AB. Shelby Jean was born in Liverpool, Jan. 11, 1939 to parents Amos and Olive Bennett. She grew up during the war years in Beach Meadows and then in Kempt, NS, moving to Calgary in 1963. Her life was dedicated to her children Lou, Jacqueline, Reg and Robert. Her passion was knitting and crocheting, making many sweaters, toques and mittens for family and friends. She brought so much love to the lives of her family and everyone she met. In 1976 she finally met her soul mate Pius (Terry) Feist and from that time on they made many happy memories. They were married on Nov. 27, 1981. Pius was by her side until the end. Besides her husband Pius, Shelby Jean is survived by daughters Lou Mullett, Toronto; Jacqueline Yvonne Bennett, Burnaby, BC; sons Reginald Daniel (DeAnna) Bennett and family, Drumheller, AB; Robert James (Cathy) Bennett and family, Surrey, BC; and her loving brother Reginald William (Carolyn) Bennett, Milton, NS. She was predeceased by parents Amos Benjamin Bennett and Olive Ruth Margaret (Dorey) Bennett; sister Hilda Mae Bennett; and “Sister Pauline”. Cremation has taken place and her resting place awaits her in the Drumheller, AB Cemetery. A celebration of Shelby Jean’s life will be on March 28, 2015 at 2p.m. at 3219 St. NW Calgary, AB. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
