Ruben Howard Conrad, age 78, Muirs Lane, Westville, passed away peacefully in Truro Hospital Palliative Care, Tuesday, March 17,2015.

Born May 4, 1936, in Popes Harbour. Ruben was the oldest son of the late James and Pearl (Palmer) Conrad.

In his early years Ruben worked at Clairtone and then spent many years as a custodian at the former Westville High School. Ruben's life revolved around spending time with his family, also enjoying fishing trips with the same. Ruben was a loving brother, uncle, and great uncle.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters and brother: Sarah (Bob) Bochek, Ontario, Clara MacMillen, Westville, Archie (Lily) Conrad, Westville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Besides his parents Ruben was predeceased by his brother-in-law Joe MacMillan; niece Isabel (MacMillen) Croft, and great-nephew Greg Conrad.

Ruben is resting in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturday. His funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday from Eagles Funeral Home with Rev. Kingsbury, officiating. Reception to follow at Saint Bee's Anglican Church. Spring burial in St. Bee's Cemetery. Family flowers only please. www.eaglesgfuneralhome.ca
