Eva Geldart

GELDART, EVA MARIE
Aug. 4, 1914 - Mar. 19, 2015
Eva Marie Geldart passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, March 19, 2015.

Born in Moncton daughter of the late Irenée and Mary (Breau) Cormier.
Eva will be sadly missed by two daughters: Kathern Lawrence (Irvin MacDonald), Rosemary Boudreau; a son Darrell (Darlene); 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren as well as 17 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and close friends. Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband Everette; one daughter Connie; two sons: Gary and Dale; six sisters: Stella Trueman, Margaret Mac Intrye, Rita Duffy, May Hembroff, Irene Searle, Gloria Searle; and brother Alyre Cormier.

Eva was such a very loving mother, grandmother, and friend for those who knew her. In her lifetime, family was the most precious thing to her. She worked very hard to ensure that her children were fed, clothed, and comfortably housed. She raised six children, and she was most pleased to welcome a new member to her next family generation. She kept a country home on Pine Glen Road for more than 25 years. She used to work at Moncton Hospital as a housekeeper for 10 years and afterwards, she looked after three aged sisters for more than 5 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, travelling across Canada to visit her children, making fun or silly times with her family and friends, and writing letters to her family living far from home. She delighted us with family stories she told. She made more than 20 quilts and embroidered many pieces of cloth; her projects displayed an admirable work of love and a beauty in her work. She had fond memories of times living at Lions’ Tower on Cornhill Street which she often mentioned about. She loved dogs. She reached an amazing 100th birthday last August celebrating with the family and close friends. It was a great blessing for us all to share a joy with her in many ways.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Residence Aventure (special care home), Moncton, and Salvation Army Lakeview Manor (nursing home), Riverview, for their gracious care.

Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm followed by interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances in Eva's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted with Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
