It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Judy MacQuarrie on March 18, 2015 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Ada and Ernie Rockwell.
Judy attended Central School where she played junior basketball. She then went on to graduate from Cape Breton Business College. She was also a member of Calvin United Church.
Judy was an exceptional dart player, winning many tournaments. In her spare time she loved playing tarabish and cribbage. Judy was very active in her community, volunteering her time to a variety of organizations. She was also a beautiful and gifted writer.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri MacQuarrie, Cheryl MacQuarrie (Lawrence) McMullin; sister, Barbie Mickey; grandchildren, Lacie Hawco, Dylan and Kendel McMullin, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ray.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Judy’s name to the MS Society.

Her daughter, Sherri, would like to thank all who cared and offered support to her mother during her difficult illness, especially Brenda Hogan, who was like a daughter to Judy.
