White, Sylvia Emily – 78, Central North River passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Lower Truro on March 19, 2015. Born in Newton Mills, she was the daughter of the late Munroe and Viola (Brown) Johnson. Sylvia worked for many years at Clarence’s Farm Services. At the time of her passing she was the current president of the North River Branch of the Women’s Institute of N. S. She had also held office at the District level during the years. She loved animals, gardening, bowling, but her greatest love was her grandchildren and her family. She will always be missed by those who loved and knew her. She is survived by son, Rick White, Miyazaki, Japan; daughters, Sharon (John) Wedlake, Cornwall, P.E.I. and Vicki (Brian Pratt) Spears, Lower Truro; grandchildren, Brett, Nicole (Ian), Christian, Alexandra (Mitchell), Casey, Grace, Kaede; great granddaughter, Ava; sister, Debbie (Michael) Arseneau; brothers, George (Joan), Steve, Eric (Mary); several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Bernard E.“Lloyd” White; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bernie Crockett; sister, Vivian; brother, Larry. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23 at 1:00 pm until time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. John Parsons officiating. Spring interment in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colchester East Hants Palliative Care Unit or the Colchester East Hants V.O.N.
