It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cliff on March 19, 2015 while on a routine walk to work in New Glasgow.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of Joan (Matheson) and the late Louis Townsend.
He was a self employed structural worker; mostly in Halifax, where he travelled back & forth for several years. While at home on the Mira with his beloved partner, Sandy Beaugrand, Cliff was known for always lending a hand & helping someone out. “If they don’t find me handsome, they should find me handy” are the words often heard by those who knew him.
Cliff is survived by his beloved partner, Sandra 'Sandy' Beaugrand, Marion Bridge; mother, Joan; daughter, Taylor & son Mitchell; sisters, Lori Beth (Charlie) Moore; Donna (Terry) McKenna; brother, Shaun, all of Kingston; sister-in-law, Karen (John) Baillargeon & Tina Beaugrand. Besides his many nieces’ nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins, Cliff will also be missed by his close friends at the club.
Visitation for Cliff will take place 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, Sydney.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
