NEW GLASGOW - Margaret Elaine (Sobey) Cutcliffe, 83, of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully in her home on March 21st.
Margaret was born in Searletown, Prince Edward Island on May 31, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Howett) Sobey.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Byron in 1992.
She will be deeply missed by her five children: Donald (Margaret), Cindy, Jill, Mark (Tracy) and Andrea (Donald). She was a wonderful inspiration to her eleven grandchildren: Scott (Frances), Erin (Adam), Melanie (Brian), Megan (Joe), Ryan, Lindsay, Amy, Jessica, Noah, Josh, and Hannah-Jane. She was lovingly known as Old Grammie to her seven great grandchildren: Emma, Matthew, Bryce, Blake, Eric, Jack and Aiden.
She is survived by her brother Vernon, two sisters Doris (Bill) and Adele (Arthur), and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Edith and Muriel, and five brothers: Eldon, Ivan, Clair, Preston and Keith.
She always thought of her family before herself, and we will never forget the love she gave us all.
In honour of her wishes, there will be a private funeral for immediate family only, with no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of the R. H. Porter Funeral Home, and a private family interment will be held in Crapaud Cemetery, Prince Edward Island at a later date.
We would like to thank Dr. Farrell, the Pictou County Health Palliative Care team, and the VON nurses for their support and care.
