It is with heavy hearts, but tremendous love that we announce the passing of Alice Billings, wife of Owen Billings, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Friday, March 20, 2015 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB. Born on August 12, 1941 in Tracy, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Grant) McLaughlin and chosen parents, Ralph and Nellie (Grant) Titus.
Alice retired from the Bank of Nova Scotia – Nashwaaksis Branch. She attended Nashwaaksis Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Alice enjoyed camping and being outdoors and four wheeling up on Crabbe Mountain.; she also enjoyed crafts, her teddy bear collection and her time spent shopping with the “girls”.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Danny (Trish), Peter (Marlene) and Darren all of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Cody, Tess, Jacob and Emma Billings, Jason and Michele Murdoch (Marc), Chelsea Lean (Jeremy); great-granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Lillian Wood of McNamee, NB and Joan Phillips of Tracy, NB; brothers, Fred Titus (Thelma) of Fredericton, NB, Edgar (Shirley) and Gene (Charlene) McLaughlin both of Tracy, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Cecil and Harold “Budd” Titus, Garth, Glen and Lloyd MacLaughlin.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10 am with Rev. Peter Thomas officiating. Interment will take place in Central Hainesville Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Central Hainesville Cemetery, Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
