It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, “Papa”, brother and uncle, Wayne Chiasson on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Willie and Sadie (LeBlanc) Chiasson.
Wayne was a successful salesman in Sydney for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends. He also had a great love for his horses. His greatest joy was cooking for his family and spending time with them. We were blessed to experience his honesty and wonderful sense of humour.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Sadie (Quinn), son, Beau (Flo) Chiasson, Sydney River, daughter, Stacey Chiasson, Sydney, his precious grandchildren, Danielle (Warren), Marissa, Jenna and Stephen and his four great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Geraldine Miles, Stephanie (Frank) Krszwda, brother, Roger (Janet) Chiasson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard, Dougie and Stephen in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March, 24, 2015, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of choice.
The family would like to thank his doctors and nurses for the wonderful care he received during his illness.
