Passed on: March 23rd, 2015

David 'Dave' passed away at home with his family by his side, on March 23, 2015.
Born in Halifax on Jan. 31, 1966, Dave spent his childhood growing up in Dartmouth with many memorable summers in Cape Breton and went on to attend Prince Andrew High School and John Abbott College in Montreal and as well as Saint Mary’s University. Dave started a career with Scotiabank in 1988, beginning his career in Personal Banking and eventually moving to Mortgage Financing. Dave moved on to CIBC/HLC in 2001 as an Area Sales Manager where he developed many personal and professional lifelong relationships. Dave and his brother Don opened Premiere Mortgage Centre in 2006, quickly growing the company to national prominence in a few short years. Dave approached the business world with integrity, passion and excitement and the love of a good challenge. He always sought to bring out the best in others and always felt satisfied when others succeeded. To Dave, his greatest priority in life was his treasured boys, family and close friends.
Besides his soul mate, best friend and loving wife, Kyna MacVicar (Hynes) were his beloved sons, Matthew and Patrick. Also left to remember their loving son and brother are his father, Donald MacVicar; his mother, Kathryn MacVicar (Unsworth) and his brothers, Don MacVicar and Ken MacVicar.
Dave’s family wishes everyone to remember him as a loving husband, father and son and as an avid golfer with a ready grin and a twinkle in his eye as he tees off on the most heavenly course imaginable.
In honour of Dave’s passion for golf and the many friends and memories made there, a visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Brightwood Golf and Country Club from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Dartmouth at 2:p.m. on Sunday, March 29th, with a reception to follow at the Brightwood Golf and Country Club following the service.
In memory of Dave, donations can be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation “Palliative Care”, 325 Pleasant St., Dartmouth, N.S., B2Y 4G8, or online at dghfoundation.ca-Donate-Palliative Care.
