It is with great sadness we, the family announce the passing of Ralph Spurr Taylor, 73, of Sydney Mines, and formerly of Georges River, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Georges River, Ralph was the son of the late Charles and Jessie (Coffin) Taylor. He was a Refrigeration Specialist with Honeywell for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a great sense of humour.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Verva (Johnson) Taylor; his two daughters, Maxine (Freddy Jardine), Georges River, and Alice Armstrong, Sydney; his two sons, Ralph (Stacey Trott), Georges River, and Eddie, Calgary; his precious grandchildren, Jessica, Logan and Evan Taylor, Georges River, and Tyler, Cody and Hunter Armstrong, Sydney. He is also survived by his seven sisters, Gwen Keeping, North Sydney, Betty (Dave) Beanlands, Peggy’s Cove, Marg Taylor, Halifax, Shirley (Ronnie) Rose, North Sydney, Joan (Alfie) Warhuus, Georges River, Bonnie (Cyril) Eavis, Georges River, Linda (Dave) Bennett, North Sydney; also his three brothers, Don Taylor, Oshawa, Tom (Suzanne) Taylor, Newmarket, and Charlie (Patsy) Taylor, Sydney Mines and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ralph will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Marjorie Serafinus officiating. Burial to take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
