Shirley Druhan MacDonald

DRUHAN MACDONALD, Shirley Belle
WESTVILLE ROAD - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Belle MacDonald, age 65. Cherished mother, beloved grandmother and loyal friend, Shirley passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was the only child of the late Archibald Hugh and Margaret Mary (MacDonald) MacDonald. She graduated from the Victoria General Hospital as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and had recently retired after 40 years of service at the Aberdeen Hospital. She genuinely loved her profession, her patients and her “RT family” who all held a special place in her heart.
Profoundly missed and forever loved, she is survived by her children, Alison (Marc) Rose, Nova Scotia; Andrew (Chrissy) Druhan, Alberta. Shirley was a loving mother and loyal friend who enjoyed most of all the company of her family, lifelong friends and her “sisters.” The special joys of Shirley’s life were her grandchildren, Broc Druhan, Owen and Connor Rose. Shirley's only regret was not to have remained long enough to witness the birth of Baby Druhan expected in April.
The family will receive visitors from 9 a.m. -10:50 a.m. Wednesday April 1, 2015 at P. & K. MacDonald funeral home chapel, New Glasgow, where her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Donald Boudreau presiding.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley has requested memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
A mother is your first love, your first friend and even your first enemy but nothing on Earth can separate you; not time, not space, not even death.
