Ruth Chiasson

CHIASSON, RUTH
Ruth Muriel Chiasson (nee Riche), loving wife to her husband Dan, devoted mother to her children, Shelley (Andrew) and Michael (Angela), who was affectionately known as Grammy to her five grandchildren (Brighton, Emma, Gracie, Katlyn and Allyson), passed away peacefully, succumbing to her short battle with cancer.
Everyone who knew Ruth would agree; she was proud of her family, she loved her work, she lived for her friends and she enjoyed her life to the fullest each day. She was taken from us much too soon and with still so much life yet to live, there will forever be a piece missing from our puzzle, an absence in our hearts, that will always be felt.
Ruth was so many things to so many people, but to us, she was;
The one who held our family together. The one who’d love you to the moon and back. The one who had secret stashes of candy everywhere – her desk, her car, her purse, everywhere! The one who loved all things Christmas – Especially snowmen. The one who would drive for miles and walk forever, on her quest to find the Holy Grail of beach glass – the red ones. The one who you could call late at night if you were feeling lucky and needed a quick Casino fix. The one who would proudly creep your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, just to “keep an eye on ya”. The one who would sing “House of the Rising Sun” on Karaoke and dance all night on the deck, if you let her. The one who made the best potato salad, ever! The one who was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, for every DancEast performance. The one who would dress up on Halloween to take the grandkids out Trick or Treating. The one who was your biggest fan – always! The one who would tell you she wants McDonalds, when you tell her you’re in line at Tim’s, when you ask her if she wants anything. The one who owned more corduroy than anyone I knew. The one who made sure family suppers ended in time for Bingo on Sunday nights. The one who treated Yahtzee and Dice as competitive sports. The one who ironed everything, from pillowcases to t-shirts. The one who never threw anything away, because one day, we’re going to have a garage sale (which still, has yet to happen!) The one who lived for, Wednesday dinners out and state-side shopping trips with “The Girls”. The one who loved her trailer and her summers with the gang on Knot Shore Lane. The one who always wore her heart on her sleeve and cared deeper than most people will ever know.
But, above and beyond, and most of all; Ruth Muriel Chiasson was – a Friend, a Wife, a Grammy and our Mom.
And, we’re going to miss her terribly.
