Mary Dunbar

­Mary Ilene Dunbar, of Parkland, Truro formerly of Duke Street, Stellarton, passed away March 27, 2015 at the Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro.
Born in Miniota, Manitoba she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Lainsburg) Hammond.
Mary grew up in Vancouver and moved to Victoria during the Second World War. She met Harold who was serving in the Canadian Navy. The two were married in 1951 and moved to Stellarton. Mary was an adherent of First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. She enjoyed doing crafts and had been a member of the Pictou County Art and Craft Association. She loved to travel.
Mary is survived by her daughter Judy (David), South Carolina; sister-in-law Liz Hammond and niece Christine, both of Aukland, New Zealand; three nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; Harold; brother Jim; nephew Larry.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. both at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 with Rev. Charles McPherson presiding.
Burial will take place at the Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at both Parkland, Truro and Colchester East Hants Health Center as well as to Dr. Ryve Loshaj for the attention and care given to Mary during her illness.
