William Oxley

William Frank (Bill) Oxley, 66 years old, passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on March 19, 2015, with family at his side.
Bill was born on November 29, 1948 in Vanguard, SK to his parents, Frank Oxley and Mary Isabella Williamson. He had two siblings, Jim (Clarice) Oxley and Connie Ordish and was the youngest of the three children. He always had an interest in farming, and purchased his first farm land in 1969. He married Charlene (nee Davidson) on January 8, 1972 and remained in love with her until his death. They settled near Ponteix, SK where he farmed until present. They have two children, Ben (Sarah) and Amber (Jonathan Fast), and 3 delightful grandsons, Ayden and Preston Oxley and Hendrix Fast.
Bill loved his family and friends, which were many. Bill seemed to be able to fix anything and was often called on for help, which he willingly and quickly responded to. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and had a busy schedule of annual trips which took him into Northern and Southern Saskatchewan as well as Montana. He also enjoyed taking road trips, and traveling abroad with Charlene. His sense for adventure always made things interesting. They were known for their hospitality and hosting the "Oxley Hotel" at Lac Pelletier where there was always company.
Bill was loved by everyone who knew him and touched many peoples lives with his kindness and generosity. If he met you once he considered you a friend and treated you that way.
The Funeral Service was held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Victory Family Church with Pastor Lorne Davis officiating. Music for the service was performed by Joan Williamson and the Victory Church Worship Team. The ushers were Glen Davidson and Ross Davidson. Pallbearers were Jim Oxley, Ben Oxley, Vernon Davidson, Wade Davidson, Dwight Dirk, and Dennis Siemens. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in Bill's life. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In Bill's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
