NICKERSON, Frank Oren – age 83, of Brooklyn, passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on March 31, 2015. Born in Little River on June 18, 1931 he was a son of the late Gordon and Ethel (Kenney) Nickerson. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a fisherman all of his life and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Nickerson, Brooklyn; sons, Garth (Rochelle), Brooklyn; Sherwood, Yarmouth; Randy, Yarmouth; Jackie, Edmonton; brothers, Edward, Melbourne; George, Arcadia; stepdaughters, Betty Nickerson, Ontario; Beverly Fahie, New Glasgow; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Harriette Nickerson; brother, Robert “Bob”, Johnnie; sisters, Ruth Comeau, Lois, Lorraine, Betty Nickerson; son, Paul. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held on Friday, April 3 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m., Rev Robert “Bob” Baker officiated. Interment will be in Arcadia Cemetery in the spring of 2015. A reception followed the service at The Knights of Columbus on 10 Collins St. Family flower only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Tri County V.O.N or a charity of your choice.
