Donald Carr Smith, Jr., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at his residence in Athens, Georgia, at the age of 69. Born in P.E.I. he was the son of the late Donald Carr Smith, Sr., and Helen Maynard Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the clothing manufacturing business in Framingham, Mass., and Athens, Georgia. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Geraldine Gillis Smith, children, Sheri-Lee King, and her husband, Thomas, of Athens, Kimberley Ann Smith of Colbert, GA, Donald Carr Smith, III and his wife, Debbie, of Cumming, GA, mother-in-law, Florence Gillis, grandchildren, Chelsie Nicole King, T.J. King, Jessica Marie Bosselmann and John Smith. Services will be private.
