Herbert Read Priestley was born in Michellton, SK on September 30, 1929 to John Henry Priestley and Charlotte Elizabeth Jane Priestley (Jack and Jenny). Herb spent years farming south of Moose Jaw. After moving to Moose Jaw in the 1950’s, Herb met Grace Curtis Lawson and they married in 1961. Herb always worked in the public eye; many years in the retail grocery business and then at the golf course with his friend Lloyd Davie, during which time he made many friends and acquaintances of all ages. Herb and Grace spent countless wonderful vacations in Waskesiu with their 3 grandsons Adam, Dylan and Jackson. He was predeceased by his wife Grace in 2014 after 53 years of marriage. Herb will be greatly missed by his son Joseph Hal, daughter Arlene and son-in-law John Klein, his grandsons Adam, Dylan and Jackson, who have lost so much in a short period of time, also countless nieces and nephews and many wonderful neighbours over many years. A special thank you goes to the hard-working staff at Pioneers Lodge who cared for Dad in his hour of need. Well Dad, this is it.
