1938 – 2015
Léonide Melanson, 77, of Sainte-Marie de Kent, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Dr Georges L Dumont UHC, Moncton. He was married to Flovilla Collette. Born in Saint-Paul, he was the son of the late Alphée and the late Bella (LeBlanc) Melanson.
Léonide was a mechanic by trade and had his own garage «Melanson Esso» and later worked for the DOT.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Flovilla (Collette) Melanson, his three children; Diane Melanson-Howe (Ted) of Belleville, ON., Ninette Melanson (John Strayhorn), Raymond (Yvette) both of Moncton, his four grandchildren; Isaac, Elise, Léon and Isabelle. His four siblings; Annette Cormier (Irènée) of Westminster, Mass., Lorraine Maillet, Ronald (Marie), Jean-Marie (Anna) all of Moncton and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one brother Alderic.
Visitations will be held at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church in Sainte-Marie de Kent on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
