John Joseph Carter passed away peacefully April 2, 2015 at the age of 78 years.
Loving husband of Gloria Carter (Cameron). Loved and cherished father of Robert Carter, Jason Carter and Aaron Carter. Grandfather of Cameron Carter.
He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine (Katie) Chant; brothers, Wayne Chant, John L. Chant and sister, Anne Politte (Chant).
He was an avid sports fan, he managed the Sackville Chiefs baseball team, umpired on Cape Breton, member of The Knights of Columbus, Bedford Branch. He was warehouse manager for CFS Sydney and Halifax RCMP.
The family would like to to acknowledge and give thanks to the staff and nurses at Northwood Centre.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a future date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Reserve Mines. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
