David Fudge

Born In: North Sydney

Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: April 2nd, 2015

It is with deep sadness, we the family of David Fudge announce his sudden passing on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the QEII in Halifax, with his loving wife Cathy by his side.
Born in North Sydney, Dave was the son of the late Robert and Edith Fudge. Dave and his wife Cathy moved to Ontario in 1978 until he retired in 2011 and came home to Cape Breton. Dave had the opportunity to travel the world with his job, seeing places many could only dream of. He had three great passions in his life, fishing, golfing and his wife and best friend Cathy. Since retiring, Dave and Cathy were “snowbirds” escaping Cape Breton winters and meeting many new friends in a small community in Florida called Campers Cove.
David is survived by his wife, Cathy; sisters, Sandra (Graham) McManus, Elizabeth (Thomas) Standing, Theresa (Charlie) Blackie, Dorothy (David) Smith, Ann (Alex Forgune) Sheffield; half sister, Pauline (Steve) MacKeigan and brother, Wayne Fudge. Also surviving are David’s mother-in-law, Mary Cassidy and brother-in-law, Robert (Denise) Cassidy, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Ben Fudge and Russell Fudge; half brother, Ray Weatherall; father-in-law, Charlie Cassidy Sr.; brother- in-law, Charles Cassidy Jr.
In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home in Sydney Mines. There will be no visitation; a memorial service will take place at a later date to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
