KHOURY, FAHEME
Faheme Chamel Khoury, 86, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away on the 6th day, of April, 2015. Born February 3, 1929 in Barsa, Lebanon. She was the daughter of Majid Antoone and Mary Dable.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Chamel Khoury; a son, Michael Khoury and wife Nadia; three daughters, Mona Akl and her husband Brahim of Montreal, Najwa Khoury of Fredericton, May Whalen and her husband Christian of Fredericton; 10 grandchildren, Margaux Khoury-Traboulsee (Josh), Chamel Akl (Adrianna), Chamel Khoury (Anna), Nabil Akl (Michelle), Chantal Khoury (Philipe), Madeleine Whalen, Rafaël Khoury, Myriam Whalen, Lara Whalen and Matthias Whalen; four great-grandchildren, Maddox, Olivia, Mariam and Lawrence; one brother, Joseph Dable (Lodi) , two sisters, Yvonne (Youssef), and Janette (Raymond) and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Predeceased by her parents and sisters, Saidi and Solho and brothers, Habib and George.
Beloved wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, Faheme loved every minute of life. She arrived in Canada in 1959 with her husband and three small children, her youngest being born here several years later, and devoted herself to home and family. She soon became known as one of Fredericton’s finest seamstresses and hostesses. All found a warm welcome at her home and table. Rest in peace, Tita.
The visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9th, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 10th, 2015 at 12:05 pm Rev. Bill Brennan with officiate. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date.
