PATTERSON, RALPH A.
Ralph A. Patterson, born in Moncton, New Brunswick, December 27, 1921. Died in Toronto, Ontario on March 27, 2015 at 93 years of age. Ralph was the son of the late Fred W. and Alice M. Patterson.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Poirier) in 1995, by his wife, Ethel (Upham) in 2004 and his brother, Fred (Pat) Patterson in 2012.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Wayne Patterson (Savanah) of Washington, DC, his daughter, Nadine Altay (Andy) and his grandchildren, Brian Altay and Katie Altay, all of Toronto.
Ralph entered Moncton High School in its inaugural class and was among its first graduates.
Ralph served for many years as Regional Treasury Officer for the Federal Government in Moncton, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax. He was Ontario Regional Director of the Federal Department of Supply and Services (Toronto) and the Atlantic Regional Director General of that department in Halifax.
Ralph was an active member in the community in Moncton. His many affiliations include being Member and Past President, Moncton Golf Club; member of the Beaver Curling club and member of the 1956 New Brunswick rink at the MacDonald Brier; First President of the St. Patrick's Family Centre and of the Moncton Nummies Club; and a Member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Moncton, the Moncton Elks Club and the Rail City Chorus (Barbershoppers).
A memorial service will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 11, 2015, with Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Burial will be in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe later this Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ralph's memory to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
